Plot Summary:
The Orphan Killer is a tour de force murder flick that defies classification. It goes far beyond current trends in gore and breaks open a new suffering genre of horror. Marcus Miller is a serial murderer hellbent on teaching his estranged sister Audrey what it means to have family loyalty. His lessons are taught in massive doses of vulgar and unimaginable pain. Throughout her brutal torture we learn that Marcus is not the only Miller with Killer in the bloodline as Audrey proves to be a formidable adversary.

Well, I must to say that I'm a gore/horror/scary movie fanatic so ifyou are another fan like me you really enjoy this film. Blood, bloodand more blood. Oh, wait, you want what ? Blood ? You got it ! BloodyE-x-p-l-o-s-i-o-n ! I think you should see this movie without any highpretensions. The script is not anything new (very similar toHalloween), the performances are a bit forced, something to take carein the next project of Matt, but even so the film does not disappointif you love the horror genre.Beautiful girls (I love Diane Foster!!), great deaths, and anunstoppable and insatiable MURDERER that will give you NO REST. Aboveall, blood, blood and more blood. What more could you want? Oh !...Beware of the Messenger of Pain ... We'll be expecting his return
Matt Farnsworth is a hack. I haven't got a clue who finances his moviesbut my guess he has entered into a Faustian pact with Satan. Nobody intheir right mind would give this guy money to make a film. If you thinkI'm being harsh then go check out "The Orphan Killer" then come backand tell me I'm wrong. It is incompetently written with a poorlydefined story and no characterisation so ultimately we don't care aboutanything or anyone we see on the screen. Most of the ideas have beencribbed from far superior genre movies and the camera work isshambolic. We've all seen "Shaky-cam" is the "Bourne" movies,Farnsworth appears to have invented "unintentional shaky-cam" for the"Orphan Killer." It looks like it was filmed by someone on a homevideo-cam after they'd drunk 50 cups of espresso.I wouldn't have bothered commenting only there is nothing worse than afilm maker who goes out of their way to pull the wool over theirpotential audience's eyes. This is what Farnsworth has done here. ThisIMDb page is littered with fake reviews and fake comments appertainingto what a great movie this is and most of them have been written byFarnsworth and his cronies. If you listen to this con-man then "TheOrphan Killer" is the next "Halloween" or "Friday The Thirteenth" whenin truth it's the next DVD straight to the bargain-bin @ $1.99 inWalmart.
This "movie" which consists of just random scenes, almost no dialogueand horrible acting and horrible effects is a huge waste of time. Donot bother with this piece of trash, it is unbelievable that someonecould think this would be worth watching. I have no idea what thedirector and the actors thought they were creating when they filmedthis trash. HUGE WASTE OF TIME! WARNING YOU WILL REGRET WATCHING THISPIECE OF CR%P! Wow just when you thought you had seen the worst moviein the world, you stumble upon trash like this. I am truly upset Iwasted a few moments trying to watch this when I could have spent timedoing something more fun like shoveling dog doo doo out of the yard orrolling naked in broken glass.
First off let me say, that I had extremely high expectations when goinginto this film. From the moment I viewed the Horrorhound advertisementand then got onto Youtube to view the trailer, I had a huge need to seethis film. And I am extremely glad to see that I spent my 20 bucks onsomething amazing! Very rarely do I feel the need to take a showerafter seeing a movie, however after this incredibly raw and brutalmovie, I feel like I need to rinse myself in holy water. This moviewill be shown to a lot of my friends tomorrow night at a party and nowI cannot wait to do so. I am very hopeful to see a sequel as well. TheOrphan Killer's brutality, gore, violence, and all around plot makesthis movie so well deserving to be distributed for theaters. I knowpeople would flip over this movie, cause God knows I did and still am.This movie has the best elements such as crazy religious folk gettingjust desserts, no unexpected lame jumps just to get a scare. NO Thismovie is a balls out horror film! Awesome movie, the makers should beproud.
OK, I just felt compelled to write a review about this movie, mainlybecause I had high hopes. Clearly, my hopes were smashed to the ground, there is not a single element that make this film worth watching, noteven the over the top gore scenes. To be honest the plot is so ridiculous it's not even worth mentioning, but you can imagine if you saw the trailer. A tortured orphan turnsinto a psycho killer that wears a mask and kills people, duh. The acting was so bad that I was actually wondering if it was bad onpurpose (It's like some of the actors are not even trying). The gorescenes are well done but they are meaningless, you will never careabout any of the characters. So, the bottom line is, you should avoid the "orphan killer". It's notscary, at all. It's not funny either. There is no plot, the acting isawful, and it's just a meaningless gore fest.
This is the best revenge/slasher movie to come out in a long time ...ifnot ever....As soon as I got the DVD in the mail the anticipation towatch it was overwhelming...Matt Farnsworth has created an absolutemasterpiece with The Orphan Killer...The storyline, the acting, and theproduction all on par with the best of the best.....My favorite horrorflick of all time was The Texas Chainsaw Massacre..and I have watchedem all...Matt Farnsworth has put to shame the Freddies , the Jasons ,and all the other killers out there..he is spot on with his productionthat keeps you glued to the screen from the moment the moviebegins..and Diane Foster is the best scream queen to grace the screenin a long time...As another reviewer posted..the Hollywood bigwigs needto watch this film with pen and paper at hand to see how it is reallydone...Have watched the film 8 times now in the past 2 weeks and itnever fails to amaze me each and every time how Marcus wins us overwith his brutality ....and to hear him speak still makes the hairs onthe back of my neck stand up...this is a film not to be missed by thereal horror fans out there...10 thumbs up...and Matt has won a new fanhere in Virginia..and cannot wait for the sequel...for The TexasChainsaw Massacre lost it's number 1 spot when The Orphan Killer hitthe screen...
Regardless of what some may say on this review unless you truly knowthe horror genre? please stick to your remakes and thinking movies likeInsidious was scary please. Matt Farnsworth is the man at the helm ofthis Tour de Force slasher film.. Say what you want about this film,The Orphan Killer has substance and plenty of violence led by DavidBackus and Diane Foster-Farnsworth..The story is a in your face storywith no confusion behind it. People whom downgraded this movie are thesame people who critiqued Insidious,Paranormal Activity and Don't beafraid of the Dark to name a few, And gave those movies HIGHGRADES???...Lesson to be learned if you think that is horror? need areality check..I'm not going to sit here and spoil the movie I am hereto simply give a review. The Orphan Killer is a hit you hard over thetop blood fest in which it's story behind it stands for the reason whythere is so much bloodshed..David Backus is a force to be reckoned inyears to come with the style of his mask in the movie and his demeanorhe has what it takes to take TOK to new heights. DianeFoster-Farnsworth as well delivers a stellar performance and the scaresthat they deliver together are well complimented...I HIGHLY recommendthis movie to TRUE horror fans..Not no Insidious/Paranormal Activityparasites
This film just may be the best horror film of the past fifteen years. It is crude, blasphemous, gory, and brutally wrong in every way that anauthentic horror film should be. I was first interested in the filmbecause of the facebook ad, and after doing further research and seeingthe hype, I was hooked and decided to buy the DVD for myself. Theactors, producers, and directors of the film are active on all of theiraffiliated facebook pages and they pay special attention to fans bycommenting on and liking fan posts and responding to messages. The MattFarnsworth crew that made this movie possible deliver a horror showthat is guaranteed to satisfy the craving for terror that so manymovies fall short of these days. I recommend this film to anyonepassionate about the horror genre.
Finally, finally there comes along an independent horror film worthwatching. It would be easy to look at the description and dismiss thisas just another slasher film, but it's not. For an independent film,it's clear that they had a decent budget, and that the filmmakers weretruly passionate about the project.I'm not going to go too much into the plot, because it's fairlystraightforward, but the kills and gore are excellent, and this filmhas a level of pure brutality that sometimes makes you cringe, especially when the killer is torturing his sister. It's very intense, and actress Diane Foster is a real trooper, given what Director MattFarnsworth puts her through.I highly encourage everyone NOT to listen to the haters out there whoare trashing this film simply because their film didn't make it. Thisis a good, independent film that delivers, as opposed to the hundredsof indie horror films out there that look exactly like they were shotin someone's backyard for $500.I admit that I am every so slightly biased because this movie wasfilmed in my old elementary school, as well as several other placesthroughout my hometown, but that just adds to the experience for me.Give "The Orphan Killer" a chance. You will NOT be disappointed!
This movie was one of those movies that, for me, wasn't as good as Ihad heard. It had mediocre acting and although it was trying torecapture that 80's slasher style bloodbath type movie feeling, it wenton at a slow pace and dragged out what could have been a good story. Iwas left thinking that if you actually fast-forwarded the movie itwould have gone at the pace it should have, I mean it was actually tooslow. There was a lot of slow walking, needless build up, and it mademe want to just hit that fast-forward button to get to the end to seewhat happened. And as for the ending, predictable. In saying all that,I have to admit it was really gory and bloody with the old-schooleffects, which I did like. But the movie as a whole wasn't great andfor that I give it a 4 out of 10, only because of the gore factor savesa couple of points.
This is the best horror film I have seen in ages. I was raised onhorror and loved it. I have been a critic for popular film and horrorrelated magazines. The Orphan Killer is the new horror icon of ourtimes. Matt Farnsworth is the new it director. A guy with this muchtalent has not come along in some time. Actress Diane Foster pulls in abrilliant performance never seen before in this type of feature. Thisfilm had it all. Big budget. Hardcore old school effects. Realisticmurder. The Orphan Killer has defined a whole new genre of horror. Youmust see this film. Long live the Bloody revolution of The OrphanKiller and Matt Farnsworth. The new king of Terror.
Lets be honest here. the acting in this movie is nonexistent. Thestoryline just doesn't hang together at all, some of the scenes arelaughable, the sound quality is awful and the budget looks like it was£100.However despite that, it is extreme, deranged, fantastically gory andjust off it's face! I really enjoyed it just for that. Reviewing thisas a "proper" movie just doesn't make sense. Take it for what it is andenjoy the ride. It's just raw and brutal. Full prosthetic headcrushing?!! Class.if you like this you should try A Day Of Violence. An equallybloodsoaked movie from the UK.
I first saw something on TOK in a magazine and thought it sounded worthgiving a shot. We watched just as soon as it arrived and we're amazedto find how good it was. Anyone who likes horror and wishes to supportindependent films needs to get their hands on this movie. TOKisprobably the best new horror movie we have watched in quite a while. Ina time when Hollywood seems to be stuck doing remakes or PG-13 horrorit is reassuring to see we can still get a good quality independenttitle. Actually can't wait to See a sequel.I also love the soundtrackwhich you get a copy of as well I have listened to it several times inthe car. Great interaction with the cast on facebook too which I thinkis Pretty cool.
The Orphan Killer combines several factors that don't come togethernearly enough in more current horror films: Copious amounts of blood, good script, and a plot maintained throughout. The gore, I must say, ispretty incredible. I'm a huge fan of special effects makeup, so it'salways refreshing to see actual makeup being used instead of CGI, andthe makeup was spot on. Brutal. Gritty. Real. The acting from DianeFoster and David Backhaus, especially between the two, wonderful.Seeing a masked killer speak is a treat for any horror fan. A new twiston a classic theme. To see a modern horror film contain such a goodbalance of plot and gore, enough to keep the audience interested (andoftentimes dropping their jaw at how absolutely raw it is), is verywelcomed. A definite add to any horror/slasher collection.
I am and have for what seems like forever been a fan of Horror films. ILove the original Texas Chainsaw Masacre it was my favorite until now.I was introduced to The Orphan Killer on Face book by a friend and Iwill never be so thankful for anything. The Orphan Killer is a realMasterpiece. A true Master of Horror was delivered in Marcus Miller TheMessenger of Pain. Matt Farnsworth has stepped above and beyond withthis movie. He has given us a true horror Icon. The Orphan Killer ishands down what a brutal horrific slasher is meant to be. His victimscan't even scream from the fear they feel. The story is awesome poorMarcus has to be admired by all for who he has become. What he sawhappen to his parents and then what his sister did to him is a horroritself. Not to mention the evil done to him by those whose care he wasleft in. I thank you from the bottom of my Bloody Heart for a trueHorror Masterpiece. I will forever love Marcus Miller The Orphan Killeras a brother and I will be a sister that never ever would forget. Forhe is in my Blood and my heart. Again Thank you for a Fantastic BloodyMasterpiece
Now i'm not usually into the slasher movies because IMHO i usually findout whats going to happen at the end of the movie before its the end ofthe movie.......................not with the orphan killer i canhonestly say i was kept glued to the screen because things where alwayschanging and happening to keep you interested and on the edge of yourseat. For me and i'm sure other die hard horror fans will say nothingquite compares to the orphan killer. Matt Farnsworth and DianeFoster....... well what can i say about them Matt Farnsworth is such agreat director if he does not become a huge hit then i'm Paris Hiltongone normal, and Diane Foster is such a great actress she madeeveryhting seem so intense in her scenes and can scream like its noones business which is what every good horror movie needs.long live the bloody revolution!!!
Everything about this awful excuse for a movie is trash: directing, acting, editing... you name it. Total nonsense. A truly and literallyhorror. Someone who knows how to make a movie (from the story, whichhas its moments up to a point) would make this film a least watchable.I still don't believe that I've endured until the end (even with fastforwarding). I was even trying to "connect the dots" but failed. Mr.Farnsworth should never again be allowed to waste someone's money andtime in this business. Really, Ed Wood was a genius compared to this.On the other hand, maybe that was the point (or excuse) for lettingthis trash out in the open. Maybe this is a test of some kind. Whoknows. Recommendation: avoid at all costs and whatever state ofintoxication you may be. Don't insult your intelligence.
Firstly please don't roam the net and steal a free copy from sometorrent site. As far as I know there a few places to get the DVD TOKfrom - mainly facebook. Be sincere and respectful to the film andMr.Farnsworth and put your hand in your pocket and buy this classicmovie. After reading the other reviews on this film there is little else tosay bar 10/10. If you are reading this, as it is the newest review, Iam not here to spoil the viewer as to its contents. There are aspects of Halloween within the film but that IS a goodthing! The random camera angles are mind blowing and the music is sofitting - often mixed into the unique soundtrack glimpses of musicfound in other horrors I will not name. The film is NOT meant to be ashock horror, in my opinion, just a good old fashioned slasher. Marcusis a twisted dark character to the extent you feel very little sorrowfor the victims of his hideous acts - you are sitting on the edge ofyour seat waiting for the next glorious demonic act he is to carry out.IF there was anything to say against the film it would be one thing. After a glorious deadly encounter, resulting in ample blood to keep anyblood fan happy, TOK aka Marcus is always fresh and clean ready for hisnext victim. - This in my opinion is totally deliberate and I love MattFarnsworths brain in thinking of this randomness. The plot is good, the acting excellent (it is MEANT to be slightly OTT)and the gore is just moreish!!! There can be no other rating for thisfilm other than 10/10.Well Done Matt and Diane - I hope we will see more of your work in timeto come. Marcus Miller deserves a trilogy at least.
Hands down the best horror film in 30 years. The Orphan Killer has over85,000 fans on Facebook and it' growing fast. At first I thought he wasa real serial killer on Facebook. Then when I realized it was a film Ibought it and was so happy I did. Matt Farnsworth is a horror GOD andDiane Foster is the new scream queen of the world. A real siren. Shecan seriously act . If you have not seen this get it while it lasts. They are only selling it on Facebook for a limited time. Then it goesinto wider release in October 2011. This film will have you on the edgeof your seat. Fans are saying it is better than the original TexasChainsaw Massacre and I agree. I have worked in the horror and filmworld for years and nothing has come across my screens like this. It'sone of those films the studios are too stupid to realize it's a bigdeal until it already is. Then they want to take part in the sequels. If you like gore and hardcore horror The Orphan Killer is for you. Heis the Jason Vorhees, Mike Meyers, and Freddy Krueger of thisgeneration. Saw is not worth mentioning up against The Orphan Killer.Seriously the studios should sit down with a pad and paper and watchThe Orphan Killer just to try and figure out how to do it right. Thefilm has to be a multi million dollar picture with all the helicoptershots and big budget effect. Bravo to all involved. Hats off.
The Orphan Killer is without doubt one of the greatest achievements incontemporary horror cinema. Where most films follow a well used u-bendinto the horror cesspit this film transcends that and lingers like agreat big bushy fly over the excrement. This is the Chainsaw massacre,Halloween, Night of the Living Dead, Lassie Come Home of ourgeneration. But it doesn't just play and pay homage to old films andold themes: this film makes themes! It's a game changer in every way...swapping the baseball for a football and placing a golf bunker wherethe pitching mound should be. The orphan Killer also serves up one ofthe sickest scenes to ever get past the censor, two O.A.Ps rimming eachother in close up just as the axe falls. It's a scene reminiscent ofwere Sandy is made to pee herself in Last House on The Left or whenRocky knocks out Apollo Creed to win the world title. This is cinema atit's best and scariest, literally making young guys soil their pants intheaters, at home, in the street, at school, while making out, whilebeating off... it's one hell of a wild, fuzzed up, horror ride. Ifthere's one film you see this year, whether you like horror or not, TheOrphan Killer has to be it... an intense emotional roller-coaster ofblood, guts, gore and granny sex... with one of the greatest pay-offsyou'll EVER see! Ten outta ten... Go see the movie then buy the bookthen see the movie again! fantastic!
